TF2Center

TF2Center aims to help bridge the gap between public and competitive play for Team Fortress 2. More experienced players can ensure games are competitive by adding restrictions on certain classes, whereas newer players can take advantage of our hosted lobby system to create games without needing to rent a server personally.

save server address, rcon password and more

if you own a server and use it often saving a default config for creating a lobby would make things a lot easier, actually even if you don't own a server reusing settings would still make things a lot faster

Autojoin to mumble or something? Mumble feature gets totally useless if not everyone is joining it.

Even if not everyone is talking, that's not the issue. If not everyone can hear listen to calls, even ingame communication is better.
Response from the site administrator
tf2center, 22.01.2014
So to clarify what we've said on various different forums:

- This is not a technical limitation. We don't want to make users autojoin mumble, since voice chat is so much more personal. Users could be in another mumble and not realise we've transferred them, especially since mumble doesn't need to be in focus.
- Adding a flag onto a lobby saying you are expected to join mumble is something we're planning. Just a case of finding time to do it at this point.
- We're looking into seeing if we can track users joining mumble, and so keep a "mumble reliability" or similar.

Having said all that, it looks like auto-joining mumble is something a lot of people do really want. Once we get round to user preferences, this will probably end up in there.

Either way, I'll keep here posted with updates.

Foxy

Update.
I think we can consider it is done.

Add the ability to ban people from lobbies.

If you kick somebody from a lobby they dance around the slots like it's musical chairs. Let us ban people so they can't do that.

Clear reliability after beta phase is completed due to glitches causing inaccurate reliability?

Due to a lot of glitches, site errors or misunderstandings between people that are new to tf2center, would a wipeout of reliability be done once the beta is done and the final product is out?
Response from the site administrator
tf2center, 22.12.2013
Yes, once the stats are reliable enough, we will wipe them all. This will be before we go fully live.

Update.
Stats has been cleared during last update. From now take care about your reliability.

If previous lobby is not ended, you cannot join a new one

I joined a 1v1 test lobby, and then left (as the test succeeded). I now cannot join a class on a new proper lobby, I got a popup saying : "you have been reported and therefore removed from the lobby" (presumably from the previous 1v1 test).
Response from the site administrator
tf2center, 16.11.2013

Mumble names are very long -> make them shorter?

My name is now in mumble for example: "Red demoman FromZero2Hero". Any possibility to make is just "Demo FromZero2Hero" or "R-Demo FromZero2Hero" ?
Response from the site administrator
tf2center, 16.11.2013
We've updated this to be CLASS: username - We consider it more important that you can see which class is talking quickly rather than the person.

Pre-ready up system!

Ok,so I would like to suggest the 'pre-ready up' system, you join a lobby, and you can go afk, play a pub...It's way better than this 'WHO IZ NOT READY' system ;) my opinion ...Let me know what do you think!
Response from the site administrator
tf2center, 22.12.2013
The main idea behind "ready system" prevent AFK players joining the game. If we'll allow everybody to join freely, there is a great possibility that someone will be AFK when the lobby starts. Our system isn't ideal and we continue to figure out the best method to filter AFK players. We leaves your idea here and we'll see how much votes it will collect.

UPDATE
We're looking to implement a short pre-ready-up. Basically being able to ready up whenever, but it will expire after a few (3-5) minutes. It will allow people freedom to leave their machine / not sit watching, but also ensure that when game starts they should be around.

Update:
Short Pre-Ready up system implemented.

After manual report, kick the reported player (for AFK people)

Sometimes players go AFK and need to be reported, but if the sub joins and the player is still in his class slot the sub won't be able to join. Reported players need to be kicked.

Fix game starting with no freeze time at the beginning.

So, at the begining of a game, the time when demo needs to get to the door, you know hwo no one other than demo / sollies can move right? well, that is zero seconds for all games.

hello is there a chance of allowing the leader of the lobby to know the information to the server and not kicking him from the lobby

as sometimes i like to host lobbies for people to have fun and just spectate
Response from the site administrator
tf2center, 03.12.2013
We'd always assumed the lobby leader would be inside the lobby to be honest! I'll make a note - this shouldn't be too hard to add.

Please make the 'Join Mumble' button more noticeable, so more people may join it!

I didn't even see the button until the lobby was over. How about a popup that appears along with the "are you there?" dialogue, and will ask the user if he/she wants to join the mumble.
Response from the site administrator
tf2center, 22.12.2013
"Join Mumble" feature soon will be available before lobby launch. Therefore everyone will get access to Mumble info before game start and can join it without hurry.

MT

Update:
Mumble from now available before lobby launch, therefore it's hard not to find it before the game starts. I also hope button is recognisable enough, its design slightly changed.

better reporting system

The reporting system you guys have are great but I feel that in the begin of the game, the players on the server should still have the ability to report someone. Then when the match beginning that option could be disabled. This could help speed up...
Response from the site administrator
tf2center, 22.12.2013
Added manual reporting of subs, via !report command using in-game chat. See !tf2center from in-game chat for more information.

Mumble launches after TF2 -> no overlay

Since you often play with people with voices you've never heared before overlay is pretty important. Is there a possibility to join mumble before TF2 starts?
Response from the site administrator
tf2center, 10.11.2013
It is common known Mumble bug. It happened with me also. To solve this, you need to put "-nod3d9ex" parameter (without quotes) in your TF2 launch string (go Steam->Libriary->TF2->Properties->Launch string). After this Mumble overlay should work in TF2.
