Site doesn't update for me at all

To clarify things I use Windows XP, Chrome/Firefox, Adblock enabled on both.

The site just doesn't update automatically for me, so every time I have to see a change, whether in chat or a new lobby, I have to refresh every 5 seconds.
Moreover, when I join a lobby to pick a class, I have to refresh there also to see my name on the filled spot because it doesn't appear immediately, which affects ready up times and server info which I never receive due to said problem. To make matters worse, if I refresh twice to see advancement whatsoever, it decides to put me back in spectator, which, in turn, spawns confusion on me and the rest of the lobby.

All this put together means that I could never effectively complete a lobby, which is saddening because I really see the potential over here rather than the outdated Tf2lobby.

Maybe this is a problem on my end, because for everyone else it works fine. So this comes as a problem and a question altogether. Is my specs all wrong or something?
